Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a process of dealing with all different kinds of mental distress and psychological disorders. During this process the therapist uses a wide range of techniques that are focused around helping the client address specific or more general questions about their well being and psychological state.  Almost all types of therapy involve the development of a therapeutic relationship between client and therapist as the core source for creating a dialogue to help overcome and manage problematic thoughts and behaviors.

Some of the common mental health disorders covered by our therapist in the Specialist Medical Clinic:

Anxiety Disorders

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Depression

Eating Disorders

Person-Centred Therapy

Young People and Adolescence

These are a basic outline of some of the most common Mental Health disorders. The list of disorders, symptoms and treatments is wide and therefore if anyone is experiencing any change or feels they are ready to make the first step in addressing their Mental Health needs it is advised to make an appointment with a trained Mental Health professional for an initial consultation. Treatment and advice is available and psychotherapy is there to help you.

The stress and turmoil of daily life can also have a huge impact on our functionality and mental health. One does not need to be experiencing any of the above symptoms to recognize that they require the consultation of a trained mental health professional to guide them during such a time.  Psychotherapy helps individuals and groups who experience a wide range of difficulties in life, perhaps the turmoil of losses, illness, the trauma of cruelty and abuse, or the effects of social upheaval.  The psychotherapy helps to bring you to being able to manage ‘it’, instead of ‘it’ managing you.
